St. Anthony School Student and
Teacher Shine at State Science Fair
April 9, 2006

Naomi Perry, a seventh grade student, won numerous awards
for her outstanding chemistry project, “Get the Lead Out!” Naomi’s project
details the levels of lead found in costume jewelry and in vinyl lunch
boxes. Naomi received 3rd place for Junior Research as well as
Best in Category for Chemistry. In addition she received awards from
several chemical and research agencies and was selected to compete in the
Discovery Youth Challenge, a national competition for middle school
students.
Congratulations to Marcia McCrea Clinton who was selected
for the Science Teacher of the Year Award. This award is given to teachers
who demonstrate a high degree of dedication to the science fair program.
Ms. Clinton’s award includes an expense paid trip to attend the Intel
International Science and Engineering Fair next month in Indianapolis, Indiana.
